Chessmen started life in April of 1973 tucked away on the outskirts of Newport town centre. Our policy was to try and offer something different than our competitors; we wanted to guard against churning out fashion clones and instead offer a look that was cutting-edge without being to wacky. We managed to do this by finding up-and-coming brands from around the world. Our policy enabled us to build up a loyal customer base; this was also our brief with our on-line shop. Our aim was to make shopping online at Chessmenclothing.co.uk as easy as possible for our customers. we hope we achieved this. Chessmen is an official stockist of all the brands listed on our website and we do not sell factory seconds or grey market goods with the launch of our fully transactional website we want to offer the same high level of customer service to both existing and new customers.
